In an effort to create a safe environment for both our customers and employees Beyond Surplus is offering a NO-CONTACT Electronics Recycling Drop-Off Service, this service allows our customers to bring in Accepted Recyclable Electronic Equipment and have no direct contact with anyone.
How does it work?
In order to request/use the NO-CONTACT DROP OFF SERVICE please follow the below steps:
- Just drive through the gate on the left side (Directions Below)
- We have empty bins outside the recycling center, in front of the garage door.
- Simply drop off Accepted Recyclable Electronic Equipment into designated bin/s.
- You must be prepared to unload the equipment yourself, our employees cannot help.
- One customer at a time, if there is another customer dropping off, please stay in your vehicle until they have left, maintain 12ft or more distance.
- Don’t ring the bell, our employees will bring the equipment in when you have left.
- We are currently not offering special services like watching us remove hard drives &/or destroying your hard drives. Our warehouse is closed to visitors.
- If you need a drop off Receipt/Certificate of Recycling & Data Destruction, fill out the form below before pickup. The paperwork will be emailed to you.
- To prevent illegal dumping of items we do not take, our employees will supervise from a safe distance.

We are an IT Asset Disposal Company and mainly focus on offering computer recycling and disposal services to businesses, residential customers, federal agencies, fortune 5000, colleges and school districts.
Residential customers & Businesses that do not qualify for a free pickup can drop off any number of Acceptable Items at our Smyrna warehouse during our normal business hours

Free Recycling and disposal of all equipment in accordance with all Local & Federal Regulations. R2 Downstream Vendors, Zero Electronic Waste in Landfill.
Free In-House Data Destruction, Shredding of Hard Drives. Free DoD 5220.22-M Data Wipe &/or Physical Shredding, per customer specifications. We do not subcontract Data Destruction like other recyclers.
Free Overview Pictures of the equipment when we receive it at our warehouse. “A picture is worth a thousand words” Visual Verification of equipment delivery to our facility.
Free Drop Off Receipt / Certificate of Recycling and Data Destruction A Contractual Written Guarantee that your Equipment will be Recycled & Disposed of Responsibly & Your Data Will Be Destroyed Beyond Recovery. Transfer of Liability. We will get your information & email you the receipt

Residential Customer Printers Or Printers Dropped of At warehouse: $20 Per Printer If printer is dropped off at warehouse (Laser OR Inkjet) , Printers/Copiers are mostly plastic & have Zero (0.00) Scrap/recycling value.
Business Customer Printers Picked Up: $20.00 fee can be waived for businesses with qualifying pickups.

How do we handle your hard drives or Data?
1. Electronics Recycling Services:
Recycling of Acceptable Items:
One of the most frequently asked questions is, “Is there a Fee to drop off equipment for recycling?” For the most part NO. Beyond Surplus will recycle any eligible item at no cost.
Free Drop Off Receipt
A Drop off receipt is issued free of charge for every load of electronic waste dropped off at our warehouse upon request. The Drop Off Receipt is our written guarantee that all equipment will be processed, recycled, destroyed or displaced in an environmentally correct manner that is in accordance with all Local, State and Federal Regulations. This is emailed to you within a couple of days of dropping off the equipment.
(Beyond Surplus is the only Recycler in Georgia that offers a written guarantee that the equipment will be recycled responsibly, the receipt also serves as transfer of liability, at no cost)

All types of monitors accepted at no cost.
Free Data Destruction
Every hard drive and storage media that is brought to us is wiped using a Department of Defense Compliant erasure program free of charge (This takes several hours depending on the size).
Hard Drives are sanitized using the DoD 5220.22-M sanitization method without us accessing any of the data on the drive.
All hard drives & storage devices deemed to be non-functional will be shredded or otherwise physically destroyed at no cost to the customer as part of our data security guarantee, we will email you a Drop Off Receipt with our written guarantee that your data has been destroyed upon request within a couple of weeks, just ask for a drop off receipt when you are done dropping off your equipment.

If you are dropping off servers, computers or laptops for recycling and you want to hold on to our hard drive .
$30 per drive if the hard drive must be removed from a Microsoft windows machine, pc computers, laptops, servers and all other machines. Fee Includes Removal Only, please note, machines might be damaged unintentionally when attempting removal. For an additional $10 we will physically destroy the drive while you watch (Visual Verification of Destruction). An appointment is required for this service Schedule A Drop Off Online.
$60 per drive if the hard drive must be removed from a Apple machine, pc computers, laptops, servers and all other machines. Fee Includes Removal Only, please note, machines might be damaged unintentionally when attempting removal. 3. Visual Verification of Destruction
Physical Drive Destruction (Fee Per Drive)
Beyond Surplus gives you 100% peace of mind offering you Visual Verification of Destruction at our Marietta Warehouse. We will destroy your hard drives while you watch. This particular physical destruction is considered the most effective way to guarantee absolute data destruction.
$20 per hard drive, applies to loose hard drives already removed from machine.
$30 per drive if the drive must be removed from a Microsoft windows machine, laptops, external hard drives mounted in an external enclosure, desktop computer, servers and all other machines. Fee Includes Removal and physical destruction.
$60 per drive if drive must be removed from an Apple machine, this applies to laptops, desktops, servers and all other machines. Fee Includes Removal and physical destruction.
Payment: Cash, (exact change), Credit Card processed through Square.

Do you have a list of items you accept for recycling?
YES, Items Accepted For Recycling and Disposal.
Can I mail in my equipment to be recycled by USPS, FedEx, UPS or Freight?
YES, Please contact us for instructions, depending on the items we can pay for shipping.
Do you have an area that the equipment be dropped off at your warehouse after business hours?
NO, All equipment drop offs must be supervised during business hours per EPA guidelines.
Do you charge a fee for recycling?
One of the most frequently asked questions is, “Is there a Fee to drop off equipment for recycling?” For the most part NO. Beyond Surplus will recycle any eligible item at no cost with the exception of CRT Monitors & Televisions
Do you pick up items for recycling from homes?
NO RESIDENTIAL pick ups are available at this time, however items can be dropped off at our warehouse. This includes businesses operated out out homes.
Please refer to the yellow pages for companies that offer residential pickup if items cannot be dropped off at the Beyond Surplus warehouse.
Are there any limits to the amount of electronics customers can drop off?
NO, you can drop off or Businesses can schedule pick up of any quantity of items on our Accepted Items list.
Do you buy scrap metal or aluminum cans? Are you a scrap metal yard?
NO, Beyond Surplus currently DOES NOT purchase or accept ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals.
Do you Accept Paper, Cardboard, Glass or Aluminum Cans?
NO, Please contact your local City or sanitation department for the proper recycling & disposal of these item types.
Is equipment to be Recycled Tax deductible?
Beyond Surplus is not 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt, with that in mind please consult your tax adviser regarding your tax needs, we can provide a basic inventory/receipt upon request list to meet your business reporting needs.
What happens to hard drives and storage media?
Every hard drive and storage media that is brought to us is wiped using a Department of Defense Compliant erasure program free of charge. How do you handle equipment to be recycled?
Beyond Surplus is registered with the state of Georgia as a Computer Recycler, we adhere to a strict zero-landfill policy for all electronic waste and do not export hazardous materials to other countries.
At our warehouse we thoroughly inspect every item and protect your Data by removing Asset Tags, Stickers and Identifying marks from each unit (Sanitized). During this initial Inspection stage all Hard Drives, CD-Roms, floppy disks, and other magnetic storage media are Wiped or Shredded (data security).
After Data Destruction and Sanitization we test all equipment for re-marketing. Reduction and Reuse is the best option to the challenge of ewaste per EPA guidelines. Beyond Surplus partners with Charitable organizations and Churches to provide Free computers,
Equipment failing to meet Reuse standards, unrepairable, old, obsolete or not contractually permitted to be remarketed will be Recycled & completely destroyed by demanufacture and or physical shredding. Virtually every component of computer equipment is broken down and Recycled. We demanufacture scrap computer equipment into it’s base components – glass, steel, copper wire, aluminum, circuit boards, plastics, batteries and other categories.
Separated scrap material is passed onto R2 certified intermediary processor facilities who take the scrap materials into the next step of recycling ensuring it is kept out of the landfill and transformed into new products.
